North Carolina Releases Clean Energy Plan
DEQ has released the Clean Energy Action Plan, a detailed implementation plan for achieving the dramatic greenhouse gas reduction goals from Executive Order 80. The final Plan calls for North Carolina’s energy sector to be 100% carbon neutral by 2050, and strongly rejects wood pellets and biomass from our state’s clean energy future. Enviva to Reduce VOC Emissions from Key Facility by 95%
Clean Air Carolina, along with several partner organizations, won a negotiated settlement with Enviva, the world’s largest manufacturer of wood pellets. Thanks to our legal challenge, Enviva Hamlet must install pollution controls to reduce harmful VOC and hazardous air pollutant emissions by 95%. NCDOT Commits to Reduce Transportation Pollution
Clean Air Carolina, along with several partners, reached a historic legal settlement with the N.C. Department of Transportation concerning a highway project in the Raleigh area.
