It’s National Public Health Week (NPHW) and what better time to celebrate public health than in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Public health professionals around the world are on the frontlines working hard to combat the coronavirus. People across the nation are doing their part by staying home, practicing social distancing, and washing their hands regularly.
Here at Clean Air Carolina, we are washing our hands to the beat, utilizing video calls, working on our self-care, and canceling events to ensure we keep ourselves and our membership safe. As a part of this, we are not hosting our annual NC BREATHE conference this year. However, its theme, “Health, equity, and the climate crisis,” is still critical and we look forward to discussing and exploring it at the next BREATHE conference in 2021.
Until then we would like to leave you with a few resources and key issues to consider related to NPHW, COVID-19, and climate health. Remember to follow the public health guidelines to stay safe and protect our families.
